6/24/11- Black Lab- "This Ship Goes Down Deep" and "Say Goodbye"

A while back, I had posted about how the band Black Lab had posted a contest for fans to create a music video for their song "This Ship Goes Down Deep." Well, entries were received, and Paul their lead singer, songwriter, recorder, head honcho, musical genuis, posted the winner, this video:



There is your winner! Although, I hate to admit, I think I like this video better:




And if THAT wasn't enough, Paul also posted a video for their song "Say Goodbye," which was recently featured in an episode of "Pretty Little Liars." A local univeristy's film class was making videos for some Black Lab songs, and he posted some of the best, which EASILY includes this one:

5/20/11- YOU Create the Video.

I've mentioned many times on this blog the band Black Lab. You might remember them from their 1998 Time Ago.

Well, they have a new album out called "Two Strangers," and they are giving YOU the opportunity to make the music video. Seriously. Lead singer Paul Durham posted a video of him lip-syncing to their song "This Ship Goes Down Deep" and has asked fans to make a video with it. Add in whatever you want and make it look cool.

2/10/11- Black Lab- "Time Ago"

Back in the spring and summer of 1998, two stations in Philly, Y100 and Max 95.7 (both of which sadly, no longer exist) were battling it out for a piece of the poppy-alternative audience, and this song, they both played nearly to death. I didn't mind though, as I loved it, and still do. I wore out the tape (yes, I started with a cassette) and am on my second CD. And since then, then band has released several AMAZING albums without a record label, and I'll definitely post some of their self-made music videos as well.
